Charity Donations: Frazetta's Death Dealer

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff.

At an convention auction for fans, you kind of expect to see some cool toys...

Donated by "The Bretschneider Family" this still in the package statue is just waiting to go home with the winning bidder (we do hope it behaves once it gets there!)

Inspired by an iconic Frank Frazetta painting, this can be left in the unique packaging or removed to sit directly on your shelf or desk.

And if you like this one, there's another "prettier" Frazetta statue that I'll be posting a few days.

Again, I hope you'll come out and support the Worldcon76 in San Jose Charity Auction, the beneficiary of which is the Alzheimer's Association. If you're a fan of fantastic art, unique collectables and just really cool stuff, there's sure to be quite a few items that you'll need to add to your collection.

Retrospective Hugo Award Voter Packet Released

Worldcon 76 has issued the 1943 Retrospective Hugo Awards Voter Packet, a collection of finalists for the 1943 Retro-Hugo Awards made available to members of Worldcon 76 to assist them in making informed decisions when voting on this year's Hugo Awards.

Members of Worldcon 76 can sign in using their Hugo Award voting credentials that were sent to them when the final Hugo Award ballot was issued. In some cases, the Retro-Hugo packet includes only a pointer to a location where the work can be found online. Not all works shortlisted for the 1943 Retrospective Hugo Awards appear in the Retro-Hugo Voter Packet due to challenges with obtaining rights to distribute them.

Charity Donations: John & Bjo Trimble

This is why I love working the Charity Auction.

We had already absorbed the sad news that John and Bjo Trimble would not be able to attend this year's Worldcon.

I was not prepared for the fact that they would still be participating in the convention a very personal way.

Today's mail brought a very large box. On the outside, it looked plain. But when I saw the return address, I quickly opened it and marveled.

Yes, I'm teasing you a little. This is just the top level of a deep box of products and memorabilia donated to the Worldcon76 in San Jose Charity Auction, the beneficiary of which is the Alzheimer's Association. If you're a fan of Star Trek, you know of the Trimble's association with the show. I can guarantee that there is something in this box that you'll need to add to your collection.

Remember, the silent charity auction runs Thursday August 16 through the morning of Saturday August 18th, with the voice charity auction starting at Noon that same Saturday.

I'll be posting more from this box in the future, but it was so exciting I just needed to share!
