Charity Donations: Bay Area Ghost Hunter Package

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff

We've spotlighted donations from dealers, vendors, members, and staff. This is the first to come from an organization!

The Bay Area Ghost Hunters provided a nice set of ghost related items for our charity auction.  Everything from socks to a really cool metal model of the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters. Also included: a plushy ghost, Season Four of Being Human (she's the ghost), and a Big Finish production of Doctor Who: The Haunting of Malkin Place starring Lalla Ward and that guy with the scarf and the hat.

And if that weren't enough, just in case you're inspired to go out hunting ghost on your own, the package also includes a guide to Haunts of San Jose, dowsing rod set and pendulum bob for seeking out sensitive vibrations!

Charity Donations: Star Trek Happy Meals!

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff.

I saw this at a recent BASFA auction and couldn't believe it was going for so low, so I went ahead and snapped it up for the Worldcon Charity Auction.

A bit of history on a couple of fronts. These six cardboard boxes held McDonald's first promotional Happy Meals, based on the release of Star Trek the Motion Picture. Every inch of the boxes are covered with related images, puzzles, trivia, movie lines, etc.  They've been unfolded, stored flat and are in great shape.  Reportedly there were five different designs, so one of these is a duplicate, I think it's McCoy, but I might be wrong.

Charity Donations: Studio Foglio

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff.

We're not quite sure what Phil and Kaja Foglio will be donating, but given nothing they produce is less than wildly fun and creative we're pretty excited none the less.

Don't already know about Girl Genius, the Hugo winning web series, the graphic novels, the books, the patches, badges and other paraphernalia? Well you're in for a treat. Already indoctrinated? You know this is going to be good.

Charity Donations: Cards Against Humanity

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff.

A charity auction donation from Andy Trembly and Worldcon Chairman Kevin Roche, this is probably one of the bigger and most pimped-out Cards Against Humanity game collections you will ever see up for auction. The basic set and the six expansions, four Crabs Adjust Humidity expansions. Several themed expansions, several still unopened. And the Peaks Against Society (Twin Peaks) expansion!

Add to that accessories that will make your CAH parties the coolest around.  Four plexiglass card shoes, two large, two short along with a mechanical card shuffler and two containers of SortKwik fingertip moisturizer!  It even comes with a rolling travel bag that holds everythign, and is the same style as Kevin's hair!  (That's it in the back of the picture above.)

You're not likely to see another collection like this again.

Charity Donations: Dragon Egg!

We continue to spotlight donations from dealers, members, and staff.

We get donations from dealers, local merchants, artists and writers, and that's all expected. What's not as common and always a delight is when regular members of the convention, and sometimes staff, decide to make a donation to the charity auction.

This time we're talking about Robin M Gage, who is donating one of her dragon eggs. We haven't seen it yet, but she sent us this picture to help entice future mothers and fathers of dragons to come to the charity auctions and get their bids in!

Again, I hope you'll come out and support the Worldcon76 in San Jose Charity Auction, the beneficiary of which is the Alzheimer's Association. If you're a fan of fantastic art, unique collectables and just really cool stuff, there's sure to be quite a few items that you'll need to add to your collection.
